Gatehouse Comments

Mound was marked as antiquity on early OS maps but is rejected as such by RCAHMW as almost certainly natural. Accepted as motte by Hogg and King in 1963 (on information by A.S. Davis (1930)) but reject by them in 1970 as natural mounds. Reject by Spurgeon as glacial mound.
