On the western edge of the ravine that separates Wigmore Castle from the main ridge is a small mound that could be associated with the defences of the castle or alternatively might have been a siege castle. (Shoesmith)

Does not seem to be in the Herefordshire SMR. Outside the area of scheduling for Wigmore Castle. Could it be that the nearby presence of Wigmore Castle has lead to some over imaginative interpretations of a natural mound?
