King writes nothing known of possible castle mentioned by Leland. "Castella in Everwikshire: Selton, Fervelton, Cnaresburg."

Gatehouse Comments

Everwickshire appears to be the area around York; Cnaresburg is clearly Knaresborough. Probably Selton has been taken as Skelton, Cleveland, but there at least three Skelton's near to York. Gatehouse is unable to locate Fervelton.
