Subcircular or oval enclosure is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs. The date of the enclosure is uncertain, but it is very similar in appearance to a Medieval ringwork 1000m to the north, known as Castell Brogyntyn. (PastScape record apparently based on 1948 aerial photo and not otherwise cited.)

Gatehouse Comments

Questionable because no other authority has ever mention this site. Is this because they dismiss it out of hand or because they did not know of it? Gatehouse can not see the feature at the given map reference on the available online air photos. The manor of Oswestry was large and had a number of hamlets within the manor and this may represent one of these.
