Langton Mound is a low flat-topped mound, encased by the remnants of a ditch. Standing by St Andrew's Church, the mound doesn't offer any clues to its past. There was a castle recorded here in the medieval period but the earthwork platform to the west of the village, is probably its remains. (CastleUK – Was initially called a motte but now described just as a mound.)

Gatehouse Comments

Only reference seems to be Castle UK website. Close to church but appears to be a small mound of no significance although possibly a small round barrow or a tree mount. Does not appear to be in PastScape. Rejected by Gatehouse as a fanciful misinterpretation of a mound.
