Mound just to the south east of the church may possibly be a motte. Some masonry has been found in the area. (Herefordshire SMR)

Gatehouse Comments

Site marked as quarry on 1st edn OS map, other quarries in area. Site next to Church and C17 How Caple Court is consistent with a precursor castle. However the earthworks are slight suggesting if this was the site of a timber castle it was not a large.
