Gatehouse Comments

Reject as castle by Spurgeon who writes "Horgrove is probably an iron-age hill-slope enclosure." Was included in a list of medieval ringworks which might be found to be Iron Age in the RCAHMW Inventory for hill forts, but was intended to be described in Vol. 3 Part 1a, however rejected as medieval before this published - so not described fully in an Inventory.
