An embanked hill slope enclosure. Excavation from 1954 produced evidence for late medieval occupation, whilst suggesting two discrete phases of occupation. (Coflein as Iron Age/medieval defended enclosure)

Gatehouse Comments

Presumably an Iron Age defended farmstead reused for a similar purpose in medieval times that has achieved a castle title. The excavation seems to have been lead by W. Harrison but may not have been published.
