A rounded eminence has steep slopes around with traces of a surrounding ditch. The references are confusing. (Gwynedd Archaeological Trust HER of medieval motte)
Edward Lhuyd ( Parochialia, ii, 75) mentions an "Intrechment" at Bryn yr Eryr. Nothing of the sort is to be observed in the immediate vicinity of the farm-house now so called. But about 250 yards distant from it, on the known site of an older farmhouse, is a rounded eminence with rather steep slopes which on one side descend sharply to the river Alwen, and on the other sides are appearences of a shallow ditch. These may be remains of the old farm surroundings, but there are no other signs of earthworks. (RCHAMW 1921)
