An apparently natural mound some 60m dia by 3m high. Formerly noted as a poss motte and as a barrow. (Hogg, A H A & King, D J C, 1963; OS, 1964). Without doubt a natural feature. None of the characteristics of a barrow, the slopes of varying intensity and shade off imperceptibly into the surrounding ground levels. Diameter 60m, height 3m. Summit undisturbed (OS 1978) (Clwyd Powys Archaeological Trust HER)

Gatehouse Comments

In Hogg and King reject list of 'sites which have been accepted by some writers as castles, but which are not regarded as such by the compilers', although without reference, and suggested as probably a barrow.
