Does this mean the farmhouse called Crossfield (at NY54474358) is built on older foundations or is this a reference to some foundation elsewhere within the 100m square defined by the map reference. Most of that square is occupied by ponds but this are not shown on the 1867 six inch OS map. Are these new ponds or old ponds of ? medieval date reflooded?
