There are several features here which could, with the eye of faith, represent a castle. They include disturbed areas, a squarish hollow in the ground with 3m sides, and ditches possibly associated with waterworks. It is perhaps more likely they represent part of the neighbouring deserted medieval village rather than a castle site. (Shoesmith)

Gatehouse Comments

There is nothing to suggest the agriculture erosion of this area was anymore intense that that of the DMV earthworks suggesting the earthworks here were not particularly substantial when first constructed.
