Mound visible to the N of the village hall. Stock kept in the field so it is badly eroded, but suggested that it might be a motte. Local reports of cannon balls (now lost) from this site. (Herefordshire SMR 10555)

Dundercamp fold and garden. Now gone, local expression that it might be site of defences. Recorded as "Dunder Camp" on 1904 OS map. Members of the archaeology section of the Woolhope Club visited the site (13/11/94) with the aim of trying to identify any defensive features. The results were inconclusive. (Scheduling Report 17305)

Gatehouse Comments

It is possible this/these are either a motte and bailey or site of a (succeeding) manor house. Ullingswick is a dispersed village. This site not close to church but still a feasible manorial centre, although Upper and Lower Court house names are by Church (?2 or more manors in parish.)
