Although this structure on its hillend site appears merely a picturesquely villaesque summer house, albeit with unusually impressive central tower, associated with Bilham house to N. persistent local belief holds that it originated as a moated fortress and saw Civil War action, and has assigned it this unofficial but abiding name Los Castle Hill, Hickleton to S. (Sneyd 1995)

There is a site of a DMV at SE486065 but its clear this can rejected as the site of any type of medieval structure.
