This is a ruined farmstead to the west of Headshope Wood. There are two ruined buildings still standing. The site was first recorded in 1568 and was last occupied about 1930. (Keys to the Past)

Gatehouse Comments

Listed as a bastle by Christopherson and given a condition of 'unknown'. The HER record does not describe the ruins as a bastle although the date given and the location are certainly consistent with the site being that of a bastle although the ruins may represent a later redevelopment.
