A possible site of a Deincourt castle at Elmton, nothing now visible, though a medieval document refers to a "fossatum castelli". Roman coins have been found in the area and PastScape records as possible Roman Camp.

Gatehouse Comments

Turbutt includes this in a note about adulterine castles in Derbyshire but there seems little question this was Roman.
