Record on OS map of 1958 as site of a bishops palace. Bishop Cox entertained Queen Elizabeth I at the palace in August 1564. Nothing remains and it has been suggested that the attribution of this location as the site of the palace comes from a documentary misunderstanding. The manor, near the church, may also represent a location for this palace. (Derived from Cambs HER)

Gatehouse Comments

The location marked on the 1887 OS map does not seem to have been developed although much of the surrounding area was a WWII airfield.
