A retired schoolteacher who lives in Henshaw village possesses photograph of 'The Old Bastle of Henshaw'. She does not know when it was taken but it is in colour so it cannot be very old. The picture shows a detached building in the centre of the village which clearly was a bastle derivative. Unfortunately its site is occupied now by a pair of semi-detached houses. (Dodds 1999)
