Uncertain form bastle. Side walls 0.9m thick. Present state - house (Ryder 1990)

East Haydon Farmhouse consists of a north-south two storeyed block c.15m by 6m externally, with a rear outshut. Externally the walls are of small squared stone with cut quoins of late 18th or early 19th century character. The wall between the main block and outshut, of large rubble, is 0.95m thick, and shows the same internal batter seen at Page Croft (NY 86 NW 24); there is also said to be old masonry in the west end wall, although this must have been refaced externally. The length of the building is somewhat excessive for a single bastle, but there is no visible evidence of any cross wall or division (Ryder 1994-5). (Northumberland HER)
