Gatehouse Comments

This Baldwin Redvers (Reviers) was the 1st Earl of Devon and Lord of the Isle of Wight. A notable support of Empress Maud who never settled with Stephen and lost his lands and castles although regained them when Henry II came to the Throne. Most probably an alternative name for another castle.
