There is a bastlelike house at Crag. Although thin-walled and modernised, there is a mitred doorframe and an early window. The original doorway was probably in the north gable. (PastScape–ref. Perriam and Robinson)

Gatehouse Comments

The evidence this was a bastle seems particularly weak, with nothing really to suggest the defining feature of first floor accommodation over an animal byre.
