                Llangynllo (Penbeili-mawr). 'Formerly called Pen y Beili Bedw, on account of a tumulus near it' (Meyrick, p. 201). This strongly suggests a castle-mound, but nothing is marked on the map, nor is anything known of such a mound at the farm. (King 1956)
Uncertain as to whether this record refers to the "beili" place name or a mound at this location. Beili is likely to refer to a "farmyard" in this context. RPS October 2001 (Dyfed Archaeological Trust HER)
