Substantial house depicted on John Speed's Map of 1610. Reputed as the castle of the archdeacons of Llandaf. On flood plain and by river Taff so could have be moated.
This was about half the size of the Bishops Castle and lay to the N of the Cathedral. It is said to have been destroyed by Glyndwr in 1404 and there are no remains. (Glamorgan-Gwent Archaeological Trust HER)
