This site has been considered by some writers to be a castle but is rejected as such by Hogg and King as a Moat. The Clwyd Powys Archaeological Trust record demotes this site even further describing it as 'Ditch 40m long 9m wide 2-5m deep. Originally formed part of a water course.'
