A "twmpath" place-name taken from the 1964 Ordnance Survey map, possibly indicative of a round barrow or even a motte castle being located nearby. (Dyfed Archaeological Trust HER)

Gatehouse Comments

Nothing apparent on maps or aerial photo. Site by crossroads on hillside. General position more that of barrow than motte, and the roads are better controlled by other nearby castles. The name is not that suggestive of a castle.
