This mound stands in the field immediately to the south of the farm-house of Llainfawr, about three-quarters of a mile south-east of the parish church. The remains are those of a mound, some 5 feet in height, surrounded by a ditch of which slight traces exist on all sides except the south, where it is lost in a boundary hedge. A small stream issuing from an adjacent spring runs to the west of the work. The field on which the mound is placed is known as Pare Castell ucha, the next field south as Pare Castell issa. (RCAHMW, 1925)
Earthworks thought to represent a medieval castle, set on low-lying, damp ground, a stream passing by its western side: a generally subrectangular, flat-topped mound, rising some 2.6m high, having a summit area of about 36m north-east to south-west by 26m, showing traces of a ditch about its south-east side & eastern angle, with a causewayed entrance apparent on the south-east. (Coflein)
Partial ringwork. The enclosure is defended by a 2.8m high rampart curving around three sides. The outer ditch has silted up, and the remaining flank has only a boggy stream for protection.
