A ditched motte, 30m in diameter, 5.6-6.2m high, with a summit 16m by 13m, sat above the confluence of two streams. There is now no trace of a bailey, although possibly bailey noted by Spurgeon in 1966. Situated in deciduous woodland on edge of steep-sided promontory. On south side motte is a circular hollow measuring 5m across and 1m deep with bank around lower N side - this measures 2.5m wide x 0.4m high of unknown date and function. (Cadw 1988)
Circular depression is thought by owner to have been a cock-pit. (Cadw, 1999). (Clwyd Powys Archaeological Trust HER)
