Earthworks on periphery of present farm. Medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds found. A castle or strong house formerly existed there, first recorded as a ruin by Leland in the 1530s; it seemingly survived until 1713-19 when its repair was called for. (Coflein)

Wrenstone, remains of a castle, once the residence of Foulkes, Earl of Cardiff. The site is now occupied by the courtyard of Wrinstone Farm. (Glamorgan-Gwent Archaeological Trust HER)

The castelle of Greneston is 3. Quarters of a mile lower (from Wenvoe Castle) on Scilley broke, and it stondith on the side of an hille a stone caste from the est ripe of Scilley. It is al in ruine saving one high tower. The Lord Herbe(r)t is owner of it. (Leland)
