No remains of a castle reported by several early antiquarians.

There are no extant remains of Moulton Castle on Newhouse farm. Numerous peoples have tried unsuccessfully to trace the remains in the present buildings. (Glamorgan-Gwent Archaeological Trust HER)

Gatehouse Comments

Spurgeon rejects this as a castle site and suggests the castle name may be explained by a nearby Roman villa which may have once displayed substantial upstanding walls.
