Flat-topped mound, 35m by 38m and 6.0m high. Traces of a ditch have been claimed, but not of any subsidiary works. (Coflein)
The monument comprises the remains of a motte and ditch, dating to the medieval period (c. 1066 -1540 AD) and situated at the end of a ridge of high ground overlooking the River Mynys. A motte is a large conical or pyramidal mound of soil and/or stone, usually surrounded by either a wet or dry ditch, and surmounted by a tower constructed of timber or stone. The motte measures 30m in diameter at the base and is 8m high to the flat summit. The ditch visible on the north side but not apparent elsewhere is 4m wide. (Scheduling Report)
