Motte is in a good location. No recent damage except due to burrowing animals? Large areas of Bog Surround the Motte except on its west to south-west side where there are small fields of grass. Land serves as pasture to small herds of horses only. E Morgan 1986 (Dyfed Archaeological Trust HER)

Gatehouse Comments

Accepted as motte by Hogg and King in 1963 but moved to their reject list, as natural mound, in 1970. The more recent Dyfed Archaeological Trust HER seems to accept as motte but nothing about the location suggests this is a motte.
