Gatehouse Comments

Bwlch y castell (Pass of the castle) is such a broad descriptive name that it is unlikely that this castle could be pinned down though it is probably an alternative name for a known castle. However a strong possiblity is the Iron Age hillfort called Castell Perthi-mawr (alternatively Castell Cilcennin) by RCAHMW but called Bwlch-y-Castell by Lewis.
