Gatehouse Comments

Quite what this record is referring to is obscure. South-west of the farm is a small field (seems to have previously been an orchard) with a partly rounded southern edge and a suggestion of a fairly wide but shallow ditch (? old cart track), but nothing to suggest the field is elevated. Otherwise nothing like a mound appears to be visible either on old or new maps or on air photographs in the immediate vicinity of Giles Farm.
