Godfreys interpretation of the site of the New Temple of the Knights Templars has this as the location of the house of the grand master. Honeybourne conjectures that this was originally the town house of the bishops of Ely. (Greater London HER)

Gatehouse Comments

Honeybourne's conjecture doesn't seem to have been taken up by other writers.
