Gatehouse Comments

Site close to ruined church and DMV but on the other side a fairly deep vale in a situation that might suggest a barrow rather than a motte. The name now seems to be attached to a relatively modern house. A windmill is recorded at SO60023212 (SMR 4884) on the other side of the village but on a slope facing the same direction suggesting perhaps another function for this lost possible mound.
