A bishop's palace or manor-house at Goldhill was considerably used by Bishop Trillek of Hereford (Parry) from 1347 to 1356. Tonkin stated that the Goldhill referred to was in the diocese of Salisbury and was probably the Goldhill (Gold Hill at ST 8313 on OS 6' 1962) situated in Child Okeford parish, about seven miles south of Shaftesbury, Dorset.
