Gatehouse Comments

Gatehouse has been unable to confirm this location but it is not the location of a river crossing so may be suspect. The given location is not a manorial centre and must be suspect as the site of a medieval castle. There were some 'Burnt Mounds' in the area in the C19 of which one survive and Wall Camp, 'A large, complex Iron Age defended settlement site, which would originally have been on an island in fenland' is 1400m to the south.
