A knoll, most likely natural, but possibly a motte of medieval date.

Motte?

Prominent natural knoll at SO30787400. Apart from the construction of a footpath around the base of the mound on the east side there is no indication of artificial work. There is a similar but higher mound to the west (1973. Ordnance Survey Record Card SO37SW2). (Shropshire HER)

Gatehouse Comments

Not the site of any form of medieval settlement. Despite being motte sized and being a conical hill this is clearly natural.
