Manor reacquired for the crown by Edward III in 1359. A modest moated manor house was built here and became part of the complex of manor-houses and lodges belonging to the castle and forest of Windsor. Unlikely this was a royal residence, presumably used as lodgings for royal court. There are remains of a moat.

The moat is in very poor condition, the southern side has been completely infilled. Drainage ditches run along the bottom of the other three sides to flow through a break in the N.W. corner of the moat. The moat is overgrown and averages 0.7 in. deep from the general ground level with a retaining bank on the north side. There are no traces of any structure within the enclosed area. (PastScape)
