Alleged site of a Castle. No further supporting evidence. (PastScape)

Gatehouse Comments

Site of discovery of human remains and Roman coins in late C19. No one seems to be really suggesting this as the site of a medieval fortification or residence. The castle place name is, presumably, based on a lost Roman building.
