One of the houses in Ordley seems to have been a bastle originally. It has walls 1m thick. (Keys to the Past)

Gatehouse Comments

Ordley is a shrunken Medieval settlement. Described as 'a large towne' in 1663 it had dwindled to a few farmhouses and cottages by 1897.
