Bastle house, late C16 or early C17, remodelled C19. Rubble, stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 windows. Central door in modern porch, late Cl9 sash windows. Right return has original chamfered ground-floor door, with monolithic flat-pointed head and drawbar tunnel in right jamb, now blocked. Ruined building adjacent is probably a second, slightly later bastle. Rear (east) wall has one chamfered door jamb and a slit window at ground floor level, two blocked first floor windows. (Listed Building Report)

Extended bastle. Peasmeadows 1: now a house, 13.3m x 5.8m overall, side wall 0.6m thick, end wall with byre entrance 1m thick (much altered probably enlarged byre door). Peasmeadows 2: ruinous, 9m x 6.7m overall, side wall 0.85m thick, probably byre entrance in side wall (Ryder 1984).

The present house is largely a late 19th century building except for part of the south end of a bastle (Peasmeadows I) incorporated in its south wall; the only feature surviving is the byre doorway, which has a triangular head with a continuous chamfer, and a drawbar tunnel in its east jamb. A second bastle (Peasmeadows II) has been built on to the south end of the first, 8.8m long and 6.7m wide. The east wall and south wall of this stand to some height; at the north end of the east wall is one chamfered jamb of a basement doorway. In the same wall are a basement slit and remains of two first floor windows, the northern with a projecting spout below it. The south end wall is incorporated in later farm buildings, and shows no features (Ryder 1994-5). (Northumberland HER)
