A list of 1460 mentions a tower at Hoppen, and the owner, Robert Hoppen, was witness to a deed dated 1414. No trace now remains (Hodgson 1820; Bateson 1893).

There is no trace of this tower in the farm buildings at Hoppen (NU 161306) and insufficient evidence even to site it approximately (F1 JHO 13-NOV-68)

The survey of 1415 says that Rebert Hoppyn held a tower at Hoppen, but the tower is not documented thereafter (Dodds 1999; King 1983). (PastScape)
