Bastle house listed in Long Rigg End NY658959. (King 1983)

Rigg End is an alleged bastle-derivative. (PastScape ref. King 1983)

Gatehouse Comments

Long writes remains of pele incorporated in farm. Marked 'East Kielder' on modern map but 'Riggend' on 1866 map. In this area any C16/C17 farmstead is likely to have had a bastle as its farmhouse. However it should be noted no other authority has identified a bastle here and PastScape seem to down play King's reference.
