Possible site of a fortified manor house. A licence to crenellate was granted in 1309. No trace of such a structure survives above ground.
Eaton Tregoz/Eaton-in-Foy (Hole-in-the-Wall). Local tradition of castle site. Reference in Kelly's Directory to the remains of a "strongly fortified castle", subsequently noted in 1867 as "the remains of some ancient building" at a site "now occupied by many cottages", may be attributable to a manorial building for which a licence to crenellate was obtained in 1309. Court Farm SO 609285 noted by O'Donnell as the traditional site of castle (O'Donnell 1972). (PastScape)
