Small country house originally a moated fortified manor house, C15 with later additions. Gate house in the north east corner is of C15 origin but refaced in stone in the early C19. Garrisoned in the Civil War. (Derived from PastScape)

The remnants of the moat have been altered and landscaped to such an extent that the original form is not now discernible and it should be considered as a site only. (PastScape ref. Field Investigators Comments–F2 JRL 16-AUG-76)

Gatehouse Comments

Site of DMV. House in a park which, presumably, was created rather late and from village and its fields.
