Earthwork enclosure, probably of medieval date. The earthwork consists of a a "D"-shaped bank and ditch enclosure utilising a stream as the longest side. The date and of the function of this monument are unclear, and the association of the earthwork with "the Danes" is based on the similarity of the site to other alledged Scandinavian earthworks in Bedfordshire and to sites in Scandinavia. The site may in fact be a medieval fortified manor. (PastScape)
